FAQ

Here are answers to some questions we get frequently. If you don't find what you need, please do reach out at info@simplymasala.com

What are Simply Masala cooking kits?

Simply Masala is an easy cooking kit that helps you “spice up” your home-cooked meals! Just add veggies or proteins and follow the step-by-step recipes to make a healthy Indian dish, as your main meal or a side dish.

Each kit comes with just the right amount of spices (and lentils, if needed for that dish) and an easy to follow recipe that feeds 4-6 people, without worrying about what to do or how to store excess spices in your pantry.

Pre-measured spices come in easy-to-open individual packets with step-by-step detailed instructions; making it nearly impossible to make a mistake.

How hot are your seasoning packets?

Part of the beauty of our kit is that the Hot Spice is packed separately. Just as if you were cooking from scratch, it’s up to you how hot you want your food to be.  You can also make a spicier and less spicy version, adjusting for the heat tolerance of your children for example.

Are your products gluten-free?

Most of our products do not contain gluten.

While we are not in a "Certified Gluten-free" facility, we are conscious that many of our customers need gluten free products. We are careful to avoid any cross contamination.

At present only one product (Poriyal) contains gluten and it is marked clearly.

Are the kits/recipes healthy?

Absolutely.  We use premium spices and do not use any preservatives or other additives. Its simply the spices or masala, and lentils.

There is NO added salt, making it very appealing to low-salt or no-salt diets.

All the taste, but none of the bad stuff you find in other spice kits or mixes.

Are your kits Gluten-free?

Most Indian cooking is naturally gluten-free. Since we have realized the appeal to gluten-free customers, we are extra diligent to eliminate cross-contamination.

Many Indian meals are completely gluten free as they use rice as an accompaniment. In fact, there are many types of gluten free flours such as chickpeflour, that are used even for making some breads.

Our only recipe that has an ingredient with gluten is poriyal (it contains asafoetida, mixed with wheat as an anti caking agent) We have marked the gluten containing ingredient in that kit.

Where is your product manufactured?

All packs are produced and packed in our commercial kitchen in the USA

Where do you ship to?

We ship only within the mainland United States at this time.
